The hate on the right reaches all new levels

As the news was
delivered Friday, what most expected to be a time to mourn the United
States not getting the Olympic bid, turned out for the right wing to be
a victory. A victory to the Republican party, a defeat to President
Barack Obama. At the cost of hurting this country in a time of
desperate economic instability, the right rejoiced. I've
been amazed time and time again by the childish games played by the
right. The double standard expected to be status-quo, and I knew it was
only a matter of time before I witnessed the Republican Party claim
victory over its own citizens. Rush Limbaugh said "The ego has landed
folks, the world has rejected Barack Obama" as he laughed and teased at
the loss to this country. Glenn Beck told listeners to his radio show
"Let me be the first to tell you this news, it's so exciting." It's
become evident that the Republican Party, regardless of how oxymoronic
or hypocritical has been in the past, has reached a new level of
shameful anti-American rhetoric. In the video below, you'll see a
gathering of conservatives at the Americans For Prosperity, one of the
main organizing groups behind the tea party protests and a notorious
Republican support system begin cheering at the news that the US had
been eliminated in the first round in the bid for the 2016 Olympic
games in Chicago.

For a party that is
willing to blindlessly throw billions upon billions of dollars into two
wars, yet simultaneously negating the expanding deficit until a point
of recession is reached? These people call themselves "patriots"? As I
said in a blog a month ago "The Republican party would rather watch
this country burn to the ground, so they can say HA! to Barack Obama,
then help fix it in any way." That there has been talk of a "bloodless
military coo" is beyond me. If anybody needs to stage a coo in this
country, it's the conservatives who have had their party hi-jacked by
the racist, bigoted, hate mongerers like Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, and
Savage. Now I find more hang-ups and hypocricy in the conservative view
point then most, but for a small minority of fringe extremist who sure
like to bring attention to other peoples mistakes and failures, you'd
expect them to acknowledge the insane deterioration of their own base.
As a Progressive, I look to the Democratic Party to do what's right for
the majority of the country I love. I see the errors in the ways of
those I support as well as those I don't. What it comes down to for me
is ironically values. Not Christian values, not conservative values,
and not even so much as family values. The value of life. The value of
your common wo/man. The value that stops at birth in the Republican
party. The value of the less fortunate. Teddy Kennedy once said "We are giving assurance to the American families that help is on its way."
To see a nation so torn, yet so united. So confused, yet so focused. It makes me wonder what will my
children have to look forward to. Imagine, if you can. A country with
Republican majority in the House, Republican majority in the Senate,
and a Republican President in the White House. I don't mean now, I
don't mean 10 years ago. Not 20 or 30 years ago but since the dawn of
the 1960's. Now begin to shape in your mind, a world in 2009, an
America. The war in Vietnam is still blazing, women can't vote or work
for that matter. She's told her place is at home, in the kitchen.
Blacks and Hispanics use separate restrooms and drinking fountains and
are only allowed labor jobs. There's no such thing as a "minimum wage".
Workers dream of organizing for rights, only to be shot down whenever
they speak about it because the government listens to your calls and
keys in on "agitator words" such as UNIONS and RIGHTS. The draft to
Vietnam takes 30,000 young men every year, and only returns a fraction
of them. Then denies them health care and psychological treatment when
they return. Only the top 1% can afford to see a doctor, dentist, or
optometrist. The list goes on and on and on. It's thoughts like these
that keep me up late yet allow me to wake early. If we don't make a
change, then who will? So I beg of you, Progressives and Liberals, now
is our time. Now is the time to speak for every man, woman, and child.
Every needy family. Every sick human who is no better or worse then you
or I. The next time you're at work, or the grocery store, and you hear
someone say something you KNOW
is not true about our President, or our country, inform the dulled
masses. Knowledge is our key. Facts are our weapons. Our sword IS our tongues. I've come to learn that the right wing hate machine has one great weakness. That's FACTS.
The facts don't lie. You can argue idealism with them until your blue
in the face but the truth, the truth is stronger then hate, fear, and
lies combined.

                                                                             Aaron M.
How Bi'czar'

As I tip toe silently over to check out my window after every sentence or two I write, I'm forced to dwell on the speed in which it will take the Adolf Obama faction to reach my front door and take me away to a place were they put people like me. Christians. Fathers. Real American patriots. Do I have enough ammo to hold them off? After all, where would I go if I did manage to escape this situation? This country is becoming an Oligarchy. Irresponsible bank giveaways, dictator style czar's. Suddenly I awake. Realizing that all of my fears were a nightmare. I realize my mistakes almost immediately. It wasn't Obama who gave the banks 250 Billion dollars. It wasn't even Treasury Secretary Geithner. It was George W. Bush, and his secretary Henry Paulson. As for the czar conspiracy, it's been the policy of EVERY administration since Roosevelt (with exception of Kennedy) to put in place these so called czars. In fact the word czar is nothing more then a media created word to refer to certain high-level executive branch officials. Furthermore, the propagating of such lies by people on the right like Beck and Hannity is nothing more than bold faced disinformation. This is the status-quo we've come to expect from such an "entertainment" media outlet. Never in their conspiratorial fear rants do they take the time to mention the fact that the previous administration, like many before it, also hired these "czars" to oversee certain aspects of the executive branch. In turn, I guess that would mean one of two things. Either these talking heads on the right are lying, knowing their lying, and condone this type of behavior. (I wouldn't be so niave to think for one second that they EVER made such a convenient egregious error that benefited their agenda so pettily.) Or, secondly, not only do they believe that George W. Bush too, was a socialist, and were happy to oblige to the requests of a dictator of sorts, but they practically facilitated his every fallacy. So my friends, I wonder even more as the days pass. Who REALLY believes the lies coming from the right? Apparently 20% of the fringe conservative factor. Or is it just convenient coherence that allows them to resume thier protests based on factless misinformation?
Welcome back to school future commi regimes of America

Here's my humble opinion as a father of a second grader and a political
enthusiast of sorts. Every Public School in America is obligated to
play the Presidents Address to the children. It IS Public Schools. If
you don't want your child exposed to positive reinforcement either
home-school or private school them. Any County, District, or school
that refuses to play the Presidents address automatically loses ALL
Federal Funding on the state level for it's unwillingness to
participate in Public Schools curriculum. I received a phone call
yesterday with a recorded message from my son's school informing me
that the President's address would be shown, and if you didn't want
your child present you can notify the school and they will pull your
child from the class during the speech. I told my son that not only had
he better watch the address, but he'd damn well better listen to what
the President of the United States of America has to say, and he'd
better take it to heart. I reminded him that this is the man that is
heading up the campaign for Universal Health Care in which our family
had attended a vigil for just 2 nights ago.It is a historic moment in
our country and I'm proud to have taken part in it. No matter what the
other kids might say about the President at school, Those kid's
parent's have trouble coming to terms with a black President and should be
ashamed of themselves.They're
nomorepatrioticAmerican'sthenthe19 hi-jackers on Sep.11th. As for the parents who decide to keep their children home from school, any un-excused absence with be cited as truency and prosecuted to full extent of the law. The hypocracy yet again surpasses the level of dignity one would expect from a party who's moral high road is that of a middle aged rockstar addicted to blow and gay groupie sex. Sorry to the gays for even putting you in the same catagory as the Republican party. No offence. Thank you yet again.
Addressing the Senate on Sep. 9th

As the House and the Senate come back from the August recess and the Commander in Chief returns from his vacation it has become apparent that it's now or never for true health care reform. The reich-wing has already made it clear that they will not participate in any type of reform proposed thus far. So as the President addresses the House and the Senate this Sep. 9th, I believe there's 2 things that the President needs to stress to not only the Senate but to the American people as well. Number one being this. We as a nation have a moral obligation to provide adequate health care to every man, woman, and child in this great nation. Those of you who oppose reform of the current system have officialy lost your right to call yourselves patriotic and further more you have no place calling yourself Christian either. (Granted your religous) Any man that can watch his neighbor's die at an alarming rate of a fixable problem and hold a good concience, is in my opinion and the opinion of many other, of the devil. Evil is the only word I can muster up to describe this cold emotion.(Or a lack thereof) Now the second thing the President needs to reiterate on is the obvious fact that bi-partisan efforts have been exhausted. The Repuplicans have blocked us at every turn and the time has now come to move forward. I am recomending to you, as the President of the United States of America to get together with your party members who are willing to create serious legislation and lock yourselves in a room. Do not leave that room until you know, without a doubt, that you will have a bill, on my desk, by Thanksgiving. You'll hear banging from outside the room. You'll hear shouts and plea's from the other side of that door. I command you to ignore them. Ignore them the way they have ignored you. As for those of you on the right who knowingly and willinglt spread lies. Fully expect to be brought up on charges of treason. Not only will you be investigated. Everyone who stood by you will also be subject to investigation. For attempting to stop a basic right of Americans and continue the trecherous flow of blood money to the private health sector. The time is now. The place is here. We WILL prevail. Thank you once again.
                                                                                                        Aaron Norcia
Well I've said it from day one. If they don't like it, then they can sit by and watch the rest of us flourish in it. And by that of course I mean Public provided Healthcare. For all the energy and conviction I see the right putting into the lies bestowed upon them by their "commanders" or "puppet masters" I have to wonder, what if they applied that emotion in a positive direction? Imagine if you could, a world where air and the simple art of inhaling it, could extend life. Or the term extended deployment was most commonly used to describe an IBM websphere. (Really look it up) Better yet, could you imagine the time and effort spent by the right pursuing the furthering of conservative lies, put into effect on the perverbial "left hand"? What if us progressives became as enamoured and compassionate about reaching the truth as these sheep are about furthering the lies? That my friend would be a sight to see. People showing up to Town Hall meetings to support the current administration by the hundreds, in some cases by the thousands. All brought together for one sole purpose. One calling. Greater then you, greater then I, hell, greater then you AND I. That my friend remains to be seen. So I say those who adamately object to the right of Healthcare for ALL Americans. Keep you cadilac plan. Keep your own doc. AND KEEP YOUR GODDAMN HANDS OFF MY SOCIALIST HEALTHCARE! The lines been drawn. Now we see that the redess is coming to an end, where our representatives REALLY stand. Your either with us, or your against us. Thank you once again.
TORTURE AS A PASTIME

Once again the bile taste of stomach acids have risen in my throat to my mouth leaving a sick taste. I would love nothing more then to see the "higher-ups" prosecuted for war crimes and/or crimes against humanity. I know in my heart of hearts that's just not a reality though. I guess I've convinced myself that I'd be satisfied just seeing attention brought to the criminals who ordered these techniques used, or set guidelines that were CLEARLY not only against the laws of the "Geneva Convention" but also certainly have to be a serious conflict in morals for the "compassionate conservative". Then again any man who will let his brothers die from something that he could take part in ending I guess could easily look past his morality. I digress though. It seems as though the President has yet again so famously stated the he'd rather look ahead, and not backward. The only problem with that logic Mr. President is every crime ever commited was done so at some point "in the past". I feel like a disappointed child who's father made so many promises to him and has yet to keep most of those promises. I would hold out hope for prosecution of those REALLY responsible like, Chenney, Bush, Ashcroft etc.... and on down the line. After a statement from the Prosecutor in charge of this investigation Attorney General Eric Holder, I'm weary to hold my breath.

"The Department of Justice will not prosecute anyone who acted in good faith and within the scope of the legal guidance given by the Office of Legal Counsel regarding the interrogation of detainees. I want to reiterate that point today, and to underscore the fact that this preliminary review will not focus on those individuals."

Now it also seems that Dick Chenney has also come out to criticize the President for allowing the Attorney General to do his job. An investigation, if you remember was conducted once already. An investigation headed up BY THOSE ACCUSED OF COMMITING THESE ATTROCITIES! A little conflict of interest if you ask me. So therefore once again I'm going to hope for the best, and brace for the worst. Which in this case I'd have to say wouldn't be nothing happening at all. Rather it would be some low leveled CIA agents being prosecuted as scapegoats and made example of. In my opinion that would give the green light for anybody with any power to do whatever they please just so long as they have the "stamp of approval" from the DOJ. I think it's time we put a stop to the hypocracy that is compassionate conservatism once and for all. Go watch the video on my -Left Of Center- page and sign the petition to hold those who are REALLY responsible accountable. Thank you yet again.
                                                                      Aaron Norcia
Will the President EVER come to his senses?

As we all know the President is on vacation for another week. Rumors have it that he has finally come to his senses and plans to encourage Dems to drop bi-partisan efforts as soon as they return from break. Most of us Progressives think it's a long time coming. When this debate started and the Democrats preferred the "Single Payer" reform. The G.O.P. came out and were adamant that they wouldn't support any bill that contained the "Single Payer" plan. So the Dems, being the kind hearted individuals that we are dropped the idea in an effort to allow the Republicans an opportunity to take part in a history altering action. So they came out with the "Public Option". They'll have to appreciate that right? Wrong. The "Public Option" still isn't good enough for them. Then Kent Conrad proposed a "Co-Op" plan, and after it looked like the President was willing to drop the "Public Option" and hear the debate for the "Co-Op" the Right came out, yet again, and claimed they would take no part in any "Co-Op" reform attempts. So then I ask you, When? When do the Democrats in the House, (having enough votes as it is) push forward past the Republicans, and pass legislation? Could it be the talks that the Senate doesn't have the votes? That leaves another option. Reconciliation. The problem with that is 1. The Bill would be subject to severe altering at the hands of the Right. 2. It is only a two year temporary legislation. Rumor has it that when the House reconvenes, they plan to split the bill into two parts. Leaving us to wonder, what's going to be in each part? Also which part, if any do they plan to "Reconcile"? I can only hope that they plan to split the bill's 2 parts into 1. Being a bill that contains the "Public Option" and passing that bill through reconciliation. Only needing 51 votes and clearly having more then that as it stands. The 2nd bill containing 1. Not allowing you to be denied by your "existing" provider for a "pre-existing condition". 2. Not allowing your existing provider to put a "cap" on the amount of coverage you're able to receive (not including your deductible) for any operation and/or procedure you may require. 3. Limiting your existing provider to the amount of deductible they can charge you and limit the exorbant fee's in which you'll pay. I can only hope, as a Progressive, that come September 8th, the House will act diligently on behalf of the American people.
What a refreshing site to see the Big Man himself, right there, with President Obama and V.P. Joe Biden in the "Situation Room" at the White House. One can only hope he's talking some sense into the President after he about shattered the hopes of millions of Americans with one single line. I got to thinking today while I was dazed off painting the kitchen at a house my Grandfather bought to re-sell. He's Obama. The great H-O-P-E Obama. President of the free world Obama. One of the smartest, most intellectual men of the modern era. He has to have a plan. There has to be some reason he's egging the G.O.P on in order to make it that much sweeter the next time I need stitches or one of my kids has a fever that won't go away and our family trip to the hospital is a free, long awaited right as an American. Then the pessimist came out in me and I wondered. Had our great leader succumbed to corporate greed? Had the idea of living the top 1% life gotten to be too much? Or better yet, is our "second coming" a wolf in sheep's clothing? A republican guised Liberal turned profit monger? Now I sound like some of these fringe groups that I detest so much. Yet I can't help but wonder, why? Then I got good news. I read and I quote from TheHill.com “Leaving private insurance companies the job of controlling the costs
of healthcare is like making a pyromaniac the fire chief,” said Rep.
Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.). and then Senate Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi also issued a statement expressing strong support for a public option. Then just this morning I found this arcticle that livened up my hopes ten-fold.
"There was tons of support for the public option," said one
participant. Fifteen members spoke during the meeting, which was opened
by Caucus Chair John Larson (D-Conn.), who then gave the telephonic
floor to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).In the face of White House backsliding Monday, Pelosi reiterated
that a public option is essential to reform. Pelosi gave the caucus a
"pep talk," one attendee said, pushing the party to keep pressing the
message. She assured an ultimate victory. So here we go again. Yet another dip and rise in the "Political Rollercoaster" I'll bring it to you as it comes to me. Thank you all.
                                                                         Aaron Norcia-LeftOfCenter-
Emotional Rollercoaster of Politics

Wow. If you've seen the pictures and even the video's I put up from my awesome experience this morning then you know. We Outnumbered the opposition nearly 7 to 1!!! When I arrived I got off the public transportation "light rail" right in the belly of the beast. Which was at that time only up to about 50 to 75 people. When you look at the pictures you'll see exactly what I mean. I even called up Dr. Mike Newcomb on 1480 AM to brag a bit but that's about the time my "rollercoaster" took a dive. On the the drive home I heard on the radio exactly the opposite of the message we spent all those hours in the sun putting out there. The "Public Option" most definitely wasn't a reality. That's when my stomach sank. Nausea sank in, and I closed my eyes and asked why. Couldn't I just have today at least? I thought this time was different. This was supposed to be the time we stood up to the opposition and demanded reform with a public option. As reality sank in, fear and sickness turned to anger. So I placed the call to the doc. The only doc that offers free consultations to those of us without coverage. The more him and I talked the angrier I got. Not at him of course but with him. I told every one of his listeners that these people work for us! We pay their salaries, and damn it they're gonna listen this time! I told them about the petitions I've gathered on my site and how easy it was to contact your local reps and the urgency that needed to be made clear about this bill. If President Obama doesn't pass this bill with a Public Option then there's no doubt in my mind that he is a "Lame Duck" President and a definite single term President. Not only will it kill his popularity but the Republicans will smell blood and believe me they will strike. They have nothing to lose as it is and we have everything. So I call on you once again to stand up "not literally" let your voice be heard! Let your meaning be felt. Write your congress, demand reform, and let them know a public option is not only necessary, it's mandatory! My family and I can't afford to get sick and neither can millions of other families in the current economical state of the United States. I overheard the opposition chanting "read the bill, read the bill" over and over and I couldn't help but wonder if they had done the very thing they were demanding everyone else do. Then I realized obviously not because if they had they'd be on this side of the street right now with us "reformers". Then I came to my senses yet again and realized that these people don't want truth. They don't want facts. They're merely puppets for Rush, O'Rielly, Hannity, Savage etc..... So I say my friends, my brothers and sisters, be heard. If the Progressives stay united, we can truly never be divided. Thank you.
                                                                                                        Aaron Norcia-LeftOfCenter-
If we all take up arms, then who'll be left to victimize?

While looking for a good topic to write today's blog on I came across a couple of documentaries by Alexanrda Pelosi. One that caught my interest,
especially in the current times was a film called "Right America". It followed the McCain/Palin campaign across the U.S. during the 2008 election campaigns
and showed a glimpse into the lives of "real" rural Americans. Much to my amazement, not too much has changed in the South over the last 50 years. If anything it's only gotten even more bitter as the rest of the country seems to, for the most part, be progressing.

During this documentary Pelosi visited a NASCAR tail-gating party in a southern state and interviewed a group of middle aged white men to get some insight into their feelings toward Barrack Obama and the idea of him becoming president. I watched a grown man cry (not Glenn Beck either) when asked if he was happy with his country. He began to explain that he felt persecuted as a man who enjoyed going hunting, drinking at the bar, and visiting "titty bars". Another man said he would never vote for Barrack Obama because, well, he wasn't too partial to blacks. Is it just me or did we get over this about 25 years ago for the most part? It seems almost as though while the majority of the country is moving forward, there's a growing population that's going backwards. Over 50 years backwards. Pelosi told him jokingly "you can't say that". He responded "why not? I'm in the south". As if that were justification for that type of reich-winged, fascist, anti-semitic, incest hate mongering. He went on to say that America might be ready for a black president but the south wasn't. His daughter told him he's behind the times and he responded that no honey, everyone else is just ahead. I guess I can't really expect too much more then that from an admitted "racist red-neck". He then told Pelosi that if he had his way that she wouldn't be allowed to vote either. That's right. She's ONLY a woman and that's not her place to decide how her life is affected I guess.

I could go on and on with the rederick that was spewed simultaneously from the mouths of registered voters in a large portion of the electoral percentage. Which brings me to another video I came across on YouTube today in which a masked man gives a hate diatribe through a distorted voice altering device while holding an AR-15 and telling the viewer that the time has come to take up arms. He go's on to explain that buying a gun is not only extremely simple but it's also your right as an American and they're not only easy to buy but they're also seemingly cheap. He went on to tell you to put one on layaway if you have to and explained that he'd done it before himself. Don't forget to buy lots and lots of ammo as well. I guess what I'm getting at is that I'm left to wonder how far it is from the "mob mentality" at the town hall meetings or the protester who stood holding a sign with a pistol strapped to his leg at the presidents Town Hall meeting? The scariest thing about it is that all it takes is one spark to ignite this revolutionist neo-conservative christian millitia's war and with the state that the country is in now, how many of these so called "angry citizens" will be more then willing to take up arms with the Tim McVeigh's of our society, the Trechcoat Mafia's, or yes, even the christian reich-wing. When is enough finally enough? When 168 more people die at the hands of domestic terrorists? I sleep comfortably every night and even did so when the Bush administration tried to tell me that the boogie man was going to try to kill me on my home soil. I find myself profiling middle aged white men now. Who would have ever thought. Unfortunately the nonsense dealt out by the talking heads like Beck or Hannity or O'Rielly in where they go just far enough to convince a listener that someone would be better off dead without saying enough to be charged with conspiring to kill them. In other it's like every other issue the Conservatives want pushed through. They lobby for it and let the "lessers" do the dirty work. So in essence they're Death lobbyists. People will do anything to impress those they look up to and these individuals feed on that power. Boycott Faux News. Boycott any Conservative talking heads that endorse the exterminating of anybody with opposing views, or anyone who questions their logic. Whether it's Beck pretending to play out a scenario where he poisons Senate Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi, or wonders aloud what it would be like to kill Micheal Moore. This hate filled bigotry has to stop. WE must stop it. Speak out against the insanity. Thank You.

                                                               -LeftOfCenter-
                                                                Aaron Norcia
